Lecture Description:
Overview of the burden of cancer globally with a focus on human papillomavirus (HPV) and Cervical Cancer. Research activities and results will be presented for collaborative studies on cervical cancer prevention in Kenya, China, North Carolina, and Malawi, and well as efforts to eliminate cervical cancer with the Cervical Cancer-Free Coalition.

Learning Objectives:
• Describe the burden of cervical cancer globally and describe geographically areas of highest disease risk.
• Identify the four major causes of cervical cancer, and primary methods to prevent this cancer for each major cause of disease.
• Understand the challenges of conducting cervical cancer research in global areas with higher burden of disease due to disparities in cancer burden.
